About Vieques Paddleboarding
Vieques Paddleboarding is a locally operated company with two co-founders that enjoy all that Vieques has to offer, while working to preserve the island’s natural beauty and splendor.
David
Lead Guide
David grew up exploring caves in the town of Camuy, world famous for its underground system. After earning his BA in Communications and working as a cameraman in the film industry, he moved to Vieques 10 years ago. He has been a paddleboarding instructor and snorkeling guide for four years. David is both a talented waterman and organic farmer certified in Permaculture. His favorite part of the trip is the mangrove forest.
Gabo
Lead Guide
A seasoned paddler with over 6 years of experience, he is a paddleboarding instructor by day and lead guide for the bioluminescent bay at night. With studies in history as his background and his passion for astronomy, he has vast information to share with you. Gabo audited the ACA Paddleboarding Instructor Level I course and is currently completing his training as a certified lifeguard. Gabo leads our advance expeditions. Snorkeling at the offshore reef is what he loves the most.
Luis
Lead Guide
He joined Vieques Paddleboarding two years ago. Being a talented sportsman, he soon became a lead paddleboarding guide. Luis has been practicing martial arts for the past ten years and enjoys teaching kids. He fell in love with paddleboarding because it provides a great workout while out in nature. His favorite part of the trip is offering the “how to paddle” lesson and the educational talks, but snorkeling comes a close second. Being an avid hiker, he enjoys guiding our new Hike & Snorkel Trip. On his spare time, you can find him tending his vegetable garden.
